The Knottingley Dragon Boat Race is back for 2015 and is to be held on Monday the 25th of May, with preparation due to begin late 2014.
The race will once again be held at Knottingley Amphitheatre. Dragon Boat Races will take place throughout the day with teams comprising up to 20 crew, with a minimum of 15 people. Team members can be male or female, but must be over the age of 12. The team members are encouraged to gather sponsorship from colleagues, family and friends for the charity of your choice or for your club or organisation.
Don’t be scared if you have no experience, basic paddling tuition is given on the day! Rescue boats are also on duty all day.
If you would like to take part, but cannot raise a full team, please register with us and we will help to put a full team together. Cost £20 per head.
All of the racing will be done under the watchful eye of Race the Dragon who have extensive experience in running safe and successful dragon boat races. The Race the Dragons will also provide all the experiment and training that you will need, and will be the judges for the day.
There will be toilet facilities and food stalls on site.
Teams that would like to register or receive further information can contact Mark Lovett on 01977 620766 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Why not get involved in the day and support a brilliant local activity and give something back to our community. Its a great opportunity for young people to expand their knowledge and experience in a safe environment. For further information or to get involved please contact our rotarians June Lancaster – email@example.com or Mark Lovett (details above).
